A 0.4 mm hardened steel nozzle. Resists abrasive wear, so it suits the materials that chew through brass.
When you need hardened steel
- carbon- or glass-fibre filaments (PA-CF, PET-CF, PLA-CF);
- plastics with metal or mineral fillers;
- glow-in-the-dark and glitter filaments.
How it differs from brass
Hardened steel conducts heat worse than brass, so the print temperature is usually raised by about 5–10 °C for the same material. For plain PLA and PETG there’s no reason to pay more — brass is enough.
After changing the nozzle, recalibrate the Z offset.
